In addition to being a 100% cruelty-free cosmetics brand, ABLE loves actively supporting the preservation of animal populations. On April 28, ABLE Cosmetics collaborated with The Bronx Zoo and Wildlife to raise awareness and prevent the illegal killing of lions, tigers, jaguars, snow leopards and cheetahs.
During the world’s largest urban zoo’s annual Run for the Wild, ABLE makeup artists set up shop to give cat eye looks to guests during a day of philanthropy and fun. We applied over 60 eyeliner styles inspired by the 5 big cat breeds – the crowd favorites were cheetah and lion – and even kids opted for a cat eye instead of face paint! We got to spread the message about cruelty-free beauty while helping to preserve these beautiful creatures.
“Around the world, big cats are among the most recognized and admired animals, at the top of the food chain. Yet all seven species are listed as Threatened or Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List, with the tiger categorized as Endangered.”
The Bronx Zoo was established by the Wildlife Conservation Society – one of the first conservation organizations in the U.S. You can learn more about how to support WCS’s mission to prevent illegal killing, reduce conflict with humans, and ensure connectivity between populations here!
